Heather and Stone
The vast expanses of heather on the North York Moors extend across the landscape practically unbroken for miles. However, here and there, you will find outcrops of erratically shaped rocks, scattered around in small groups. For the photographer these present an opportunity to add contrasting shapes and textures to their shots of the heather. However, they also present interesting compositional challenges - what to include, what to exclude, where to place the crop.
